Create A Country Masks

Each student is creating a country to demostrate knowledge of geography, and country elements. One of the activities was to create a mask to be used in a ceromony, battle, or ritual. They had to then do an oral presentation and report of the colors and symbols of their mask and how they were connected to their country. Here are a few pictures.

Voice Threads Touching Spirit Bear Projects

For the final project after reading the book, Touching Spirit Bear, The students reflected on the 4 themes in the book, Strength, Honesty, Gentleness and Respect. In groups they came up with synonyms and antonyms to their theme, then they found examples of those ideas in the book, along with quotes from the story.  After that they drew pictures of their themes.  The final step was to create an interactive voice thread where they spoke about their pictures and the themes in Touching Spirit Bear.
